After Years of Relentless SaudaGhar Coverage, PMC Finally Wakes Up and Takes Action
For years, SaudaGhar has been raising the same questions that Pune citizens keep asking. Why is the city’s civic system collapsing, and why is nobody accountable? From broken roads and garbage piles to drainage failures and irregular water supply, these are problems every resident has seen, but few in power have cared to fix.After countless videos, reports, and citizen voices, it finally seems that the Pune Municipal Corporation is showing some movement.During a surprise inspection in Manjri and Shewalewadi, the Commissioner saw the ground situation firsthand. There was uncollected garbage, open drains, and unfinished road work. Local officers could not give clear answers. By the end of the visit, action had already started.Hadapsar Assistant Commissioner was transferred. A drainage engineer, a health inspector, and a mukadam were suspended for poor performance. Earlier this week, three officials in Wagholi were also moved out for similar negligence.The Commissioner’s message was clear. Work honestly or step aside.It is too early to call this a transformation, but after years of complete silence, this feels like a start. The real test will be whether such action continues across other wards or ends after a few weeks.For now, Pune residents can finally say something that had long stopped sounding possible. Something is actually happening inside the PMC.
