After receiving a stop work notice from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) over alleged violations, Maha Metro has resumed work in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Nagar area on Ganeshkhind road. The PMC had earlier cited concerns about the impact of Maha Metro's structures on the ongoing 45-metre road widening work. In response, Maha Metro clarified that it has all the necessary permissions in place, and discussions are ongoing with the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to find a solution to the issue.
The dispute arose when the PMC, in the process of widening Ganeshkhind Road, issued a stop work notice, alleging non-compliance and lack of communication from Maha Metro. The PMC commissioner instructed Maha Metro to halt work, obtain approval from the PMC's road and building permission department, and then resume construction. The situation has now seen progress as Maha Metro has resumed work after addressing the concerns raised by the PMC and clarifying its compliance with necessary regulations.
