Over 1,000 Properties Registered Under Intra-District Facility in Just Two Weeks

14 May 2025

In just two weeks since its rollout on May 1, Maharashtra has recorded 1,081 property registrations under the new intra-district registration facility, allowing citizens to register properties at any sub-registrar office within the same district, regardless of the property's location. The move, aimed at reducing travel and easing the process for buyers and sellers, has been well-received across both rural and urban areas. Officials noted successful registrations from places like Latur and Pune, praising the system’s convenience and the absence of technical issues so far. The initiative, initially piloted in Mumbai, is now operational statewide.

Looking ahead, the state government is preparing for inter-district property registration, which would allow registrations to be carried out in a different district altogether, pending the resolution of some technical challenges. Additionally, the updated Leave and Licence 2.0 system delayed due to stakeholder concerns is now scheduled to launch in mid-June across Maharashtra (excluding Mumbai). The update aims to streamline digital agreements but needed adjustments related to Aadhaar verification and formatting errors before going live.
