Why PCMC Shut Down Multiple RMC Plants.

17 Nov 2025

Pimpri Chinchwad has stepped up its environmental action as PCMC sealed nine RMC plants in Tathawade, Punawale, Pimple Nilakh, and Moshi after a detailed inspection linked to rising dust pollution. This report explains how the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board identified 30 ready mix concrete units operating without proper dust control systems, which led to the PCMC crackdown. The video covers the role of GRAP, the checks done by the nuisance detection squad, and how open mixing, uncovered transport, and lack of sprinklers have contributed to poor air quality in major residential pockets.

Residents from Wakad and nearby areas have raised concerns about dust spilling from uncovered construction trucks, which has increased pollution and affected daily commuting. The civic body has now activated seasonal air quality measures and warned that strict action will continue. This video also explains the new MPCB guidelines that restrict RMC plants near schools, hospitals, and courts, and the rule requiring older plants to be fully covered. Homebuyers and citizens who monitor air quality and infrastructure development will find a clear, factual breakdown of the situation.
