Pargaon Memane Villagers Renew United Stand Against Purandar Airport Project
Villagers of Pargaon Memane in Purandar taluka have come together once again to oppose the proposed Purandar airport project. During the village’s traditional Complaint Padwa meeting, residents unanimously passed a resolution stating that no land from their village would be handed over for the airport. The move marks a revival of the anti-airport agitation that had seen reduced participation in recent months.
The renewed unity follows the release of a revised airport layout that shows nearly 100 hectares of Pargaon Memane’s land falling under the project area. Villagers discussed legal strategies, financial transparency, and shared contributions for future court matters. The meeting also included cultural activities and recognition of local artists, concluding with Diwali greetings and calls for continued solidarity.
