Wagholi Residents Rise Up Pune’s East Demands Better Roads Water and Civic Services

08 Oct 2025

Residents from Pune’s eastern suburbs including Wadgaon Sheri, Wagholi, Lohegaon, and Dhanori gathered outside the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) building to protest years of civic neglect. The protestors demanded basic amenities such as consistent water supply, better roads, proper drainage, improved healthcare, and functioning streetlights. They also urged for the approval of pending village development plans and the creation of green spaces.

Frustrated by daily hardships, locals highlighted how irregular water supply and poor roads had made life miserable. They pointed out that despite paying taxes, their areas still lack essential civic facilities. Key demands included completing the Bhama Askhed pipeline to Wagholi, finishing stalled road projects, and repairing potholes along Wagholi–Lohegaon and Ahilyanagar Roads. The civic chief assured residents that the PMC would review and address their grievances on priority.
