People residing around Amanora Park Town in Hadapsar, Magarpatta, are compelled to breathe the worst air due to garbage burning.
People residing here have lodged multiple complaints with the PMC concerning garbage burning near Amanora Mall and Instamart lane, urging the authorities to take strict action. Due to the poor air quality, residents are experiencing various health-related problems.
According to a report, the PMC has taken action against 80 individuals within 25 days, collecting a fine of Rs 12.98 lakh. The PMC states that garbage burning occurs primarily at night, with resulting smoke being visible in the morning. In response to this situation, the PMC plans to initiate night patrolling in sensitive areas to prevent the burning of waste.
The fine of Rs 1,000 will also be imposed on individuals who burn garbage, and this amount will increase for habitual offenders.
