Khadki Cantonments Contribution Free Land for PMC Road Widening Project
In a recent meeting between the Pune Municipal Corporation's commissioner and the chief executive officer of the Khadki Cantonment Board, a comprehensive plan has been unveiled to address the long-standing issue of traffic congestion on Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road in Khadki. The primary focus of this plan is to widen the critical Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, which has been plagued by chronic traffic jams. Additionally, a crucial step in this effort involves the expansion of the railway underpass at Khadki, a project that will involve the cooperation of the Cantonment Board. The underpass, located in close proximity to the Khadki police station and the Khadki ACP Division Office at Bopodi, serves as a vital transportation link for residents of several areas, including Aundh, Bopodi, Khadki, and Yerwada. However, its narrow width has contributed to ongoing traffic congestion issues in the region.
Efforts are now underway to alleviate these traffic concerns by not only widening Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road but also expanding the underpass, aiming to improve traffic flow and accessibility for the benefit of the local residents and commuters.
