Pune's ongoing metro project is making significant progress, with the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro) targeting the commencement of commercial operations on the Ruby Hall to Ramwadi route by December of this year. This announcement came after a successful trial run on that section. Additionally, the underground metro work is proceeding rapidly and is expected to be completed by April next year. By December, the Vanaz to Ramwadi route is expected to be operational, followed by the Pimpri-Chinchwad to Swargate corridor becoming available for use by April. The Pune district guardian minister recently inspected various development works related to the metro project, ensuring that the infrastructure is on track for a timely launch.
During his visit, the minister also reviewed other critical development projects, such as the multimodal hub at Swargate, the riverfront development project, the oxygen park, and Bharatratna Atalbihari Vajpayee Medical College. He emphasized the importance of preventing flood-like situations in the future by overseeing proper plantation for the riverfront development project with an emphasis on local species and clear labeling in both English and Marathi. Furthermore, he encouraged the provision of space for yoga at the Oxygen Park and the creation of suitable tracks instead of paver blocks. The minister's visit demonstrated a commitment to improving urban infrastructure, ensuring transparency in medical college admissions, and expediting the metro project's development for the benefit of Pune's residents.
