The new height barrier installed at the Sasanenagar underpass in Hadapsar has created fresh challenges for daily commuters. The Pune Municipal Corporation replaced the structure that was damaged earlier this month, but the barrier has been placed only on one side of the subway. With no clear warning signage on the approach road, heavy vehicles are entering from the open side and getting stuck when they reach the exit. This has already caused long traffic delays along this important link that connects Hadapsar with Undri, Chintamaninagar, and Handewadi.
Officials say the underpass falls under the railway department, which has been asked to rebuild the full height restriction system. Residents argue that the incomplete setup and lack of visibility have made the route unsafe. Many have reported repeated incidents where trucks and large vehicles have been trapped for hours, disrupting movement on a road that thousands use every day. The issue remains unresolved, and commuters are waiting for a coordinated solution between PMC and the railways
