Hinjawadi IT Corridor Gets Traffic Relief After PMPML Bus Stop Relocation
Authorities have initiated traffic management changes in Pune’s Hinjawadi IT corridor by relocating several PMPML bus stops and modifying routes to ease congestion during peak hours. The IT hub, which witnesses a massive daily inflow of employees and private vehicles, has long struggled with traffic bottlenecks due to limited road capacity and dense office activity. Officials from the traffic division identified several bus stops located on critical junctions as major disruption points and decided to shift them to improve traffic flow.
Key bus stops at Savtamali Mandir, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, Tata T-Junction, Wipro Phase 2 Circle, Power House Station and MIDC Circle have been relocated as part of the initiative. Authorities also removed the bus stop outside Persistent Systems after the road stretch between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and Phase 1 Circle was converted into a one-way corridor. Officials say further changes may be introduced once Metro services in the Hinjawadi corridor begin operations. Meanwhile, commuters have been urged to avoid wrong-side driving and unnecessary pick-ups near junctions to support smoother traffic movement in the area.
