Wagholi Residents Seek Urgent Civic Fixes in Meeting with PMC Officials

29 Jan 2025

The Wagholi Housing Societies Association (WHSA) held a key meeting with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Additional Commissioner (Estate) B.P. on Monday to discuss long-standing civic issues in Wagholi. WHSA representatives presented a list of unresolved problems, leading to a constructive discussion with assurances of immediate action. Key concerns raised included defective street lights along Nagar Highway, illegal encroachments on Pune-Nagar Road, sewage disposal issues, unauthorized hoardings, and pending property tax bills. The Additional Commissioner assured WHSA that faulty streetlights would be repaired within 8–10 days, encroachments would be investigated, and drainage solutions would be integrated into Wagholi’s Development Plan.

Additionally, the PMC official stated that 90% of illegal hoardings along Nagar Road had already been removed, with future drives planned to address remaining violations. He also assured that pending property tax bills for residents with occupation certificates would be prioritized. WHSA expressed optimism about the meeting’s outcomes and pledged to continue monitoring progress. These developments mark a step toward improved infrastructure and living conditions for Wagholi’s growing community.
