The Pune Mumbai Expressway missing link project continues to be one of the most searched infrastructure topics in Maharashtra, and officials have now confirmed that the expected opening is around March 2026. The update highlights that the Pune Mumbai travel time reduction will depend heavily on the completion of the 650 metre cable stayed bridge at Tiger Valley, which is considered the most challenging engineering section of the entire expressway project. Officials also said that 98 percent of the missing link work is finished, and the 10.6 kilometre tunnel is already ready for use.
According to MSRDC, the cable installation work is progressing steadily because good weather in November allowed teams to increase activity at the site. A total of 144 cables have been installed so far, and each side of the bridge requires 120 cables. The officials explained that the Pune Mumbai Expressway alignment at this point crosses a deep valley with strong winds and heavy rain during the monsoon, which is why safety and precision remain the top priority. The earlier deadline of December 2025 was affected by weather conditions, but the current progress shows that the final phase is moving forward in a controlled and safe manner.
