The drainage chamber and stormwater line lids on Karve Road have once again deteriorated, causing inconvenience to road users. While the recent resurfacing has eliminated potholes, commuters have pointed out that uneven and broken lids remain a major issue. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had initiated repairs on prominent roads in November 2024, replacing many damaged covers to prevent sinking. However, some lids have already become uneven, with cement chipping off, and barricades have been placed near a broken lid near Garware School to alert commuters about potential danger. Residents and shop owners have expressed concerns over the lack of regular maintenance, urging civic officials to conduct thorough inspections of recently resurfaced roads.
PMC officials have assured that repairs will be carried out wherever necessary, stating that resurfacing of key roads is still underway. The civic road department revealed that work on 15 roads is nearing completion, with 32 major road stretches identified for further repairs. The department head emphasized that repair teams are working even at night to ensure smoother roads for citizens, with the next phase of resurfacing set to begin soon.
