MIDC has confirmed that the remaining 1.8km stretch of the Baner to Hinjawadi road will be completed within the next two weeks. This road is a key connector for commuters traveling to Hinjawadi Phase 1 and Phase 3 and has faced delays for nearly six years due to administrative issues among MIDC, PMRDA, and the state PWD. Out of the total 6km length, the final 2.5km six lane portion between MIDC Circle and Maan village is already complete, while the first section from Baner to Mhalunge remains stuck because of land acquisition complications.
Work has now restarted on the middle stretch from Mhalunge to MIDC Circle, which is expected to improve daily travel for the 25 percent of commuters who currently use the kuchcha road. With two large townships coming up in the Mhalunge area and nearly fifty thousand future residents expected, the pressure on this route has grown significantly. Proper completion of the remaining stretch is expected to ease congestion and provide smoother access between Baner, Mhalunge, Maan, and the Hinjawadi IT Park.
