The Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) has finally begun long-awaited repair work on key roads within its jurisdiction, including Holkar Road, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, and several internal stretches. The patchwork repairs, completed in early October, follow months of complaints from residents and commuters about the poor condition of roads riddled with potholes. Officials confirmed that bitumen filling work has been done on major traffic routes to make them motorable, especially after a spike in minor accidents during the monsoon due to damaged surfaces. While citizens have welcomed the improvement, they continue to demand similar action on other damaged roads in the Range Hills area, which fall under the jurisdiction of the Military Engineering Services (MES) and Ammunition Factory, Khadki. The board has also announced upcoming repairs for Tank Road and the lanes around Khadki Bazaar, though no fixed completion timeline has been shared. Residents and civic groups have urged coordination between KCB and MES to ensure consistent road quality across all areas, especially ahead of the festive season when traffic volume increases significantly.
