The Pune traffic police have identified 131 waterlogging spots and 102 pothole-ridden stretches that are repeatedly causing massive traffic jams during heavy rains. Areas such as Warje, Market Yard, Katraj-Kondhwa Road, Vadgaon Chowk, Vimannagar Junction, Khadki, Baner Road, and Satara Road are among the worst affected. Waterlogging at Khadki underpass and Wakadewadi has disrupted traffic on both old Pune–Mumbai Road and New Sangamwadi Road.
Officials said a detailed report with photos has been sent to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), requesting urgent repair and drainage solutions. The traffic police have also set up coordination teams with PMC to monitor progress. However, frustrated commuters continue to struggle daily, navigating knee-deep water and potholes across key routes, highlighting the urgency of immediate civic action.
