Potholes across Khadki Cantt lead to traffic snarls.

03 Oct 2025

Daily commuters in the Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) area continue to face severe hardships as pothole-ridden roads like Mula Road and Range Hills Road remain in a dangerous state. Autorickshaw drivers report frequent vehicle damage, with breakdown costs eating into their earnings, while residents express frustration over the lack of durable repairs. The situation has worsened due to heavy rainfall this monsoon, filling potholes with water and making them invisible, leading to longer travel times and serious safety hazards.

KCB officials admitted the challenge, stating that tenders for repair have been finalized but continuous rains delayed execution. Temporary patchwork with murum has not lasted, leaving citizens angry at repeated short-term fixes. Residents and civic activists argue that poor planning and lack of urgency have worsened the problem, urging immediate durable repairs. For now, citizens must continue navigating bumpy, unsafe rides, hoping for long-term solutions once the rains subside.
