Barricades and Bus Stop Shifts Ease Congestion at Sancheti Chowk

20 Feb 2026

Traffic movement from the CoEP Flyover towards JM Road near Sancheti Hospital Chowk has shown improvement over the past few days following corrective measures taken by the traffic police and civic authorities. Barricades have been installed to regulate vehicle movement at the junction, while two obstructive bus stops of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited have been relocated to ensure smoother traffic flow. No-parking zones have also been enforced along the stretch to prevent bottlenecks.

During peak hours, traffic personnel are manually managing the junction to maintain continuity and restrict lane-cutting, while steps are being taken to limit the entry of heavy vehicles during rush hours. Commuters said that although traffic speed has improved between the flyover and JM Road, congestion during peak hours remains a concern. Regular users have demanded proper lane markings, clear directional signage toward Deccan Gymkhana, Shivaji Road and Shimla Office Chowk, and strict action against autorickshaws and private vehicles that halt along the road and block lanes.
