Commuters on Sinhagad Road may have to wait longer for full relief from traffic woes, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is likely to miss the June deadline to open the remaining Wadgaon-to-Rajaram Bridge wing of the flyover. Officials blame the early arrival of monsoon showers for slowing construction work the ramps at both ends are still incomplete, and tarring is delayed due to overcast skies. While the PMC held a review meeting this week to speed things up, the progress remains sluggish. Residents who were hoping for smoother traffic flow before heavy rains have expressed frustration over yet another missed timeline.
Although one wing of the flyover Rajaram Bridge to Wadgaon was opened on May 1 and has helped reduce congestion slightly, the incomplete second wing continues to cause inconvenience, especially during peak hours. Locals say the daily commute on Sinhagad Road remains a challenge, and they're demanding more urgency from PMC. With both wings operational, travel time on the stretch is expected to drop by 10–15 minutes. For now, however, delays and bunching of vehicles near the Katraj-Dehu Road Bypass Chowk are still causing bottlenecks, leaving citizens bracing for more rainy-day traffic jams.
