Following protests from residents of Chikhali in the Pimpri Chinchwad area, the municipal corporation has made the decision to allow residents access to a ground where an equestrian academy was proposed to be established. The ground had been inaccessible to residents due to the presence of structures related to the academy. However, after residents announced plans to forcefully enter the ground to celebrate Shiv Jayanti, the corporation opted to open it to the public while keeping a shed built for horses in one part of the ground for a temporary period.
The decision came after residents expressed concerns about the lack of open spaces in the area and demanded access to the ground. The corporation, acknowledging the residents' sentiments, communicated its decision to allow public access while also addressing the need to find an alternative location for the equestrian academy. This resolution aims to balance the community's recreational needs with ongoing infrastructure projects in the locality.
