The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has identified 33 crucial "missing links" out of a total of 390, with the aim of alleviating traffic congestion on various city roads. These missing links, spanning 273.22 km and estimated to cost ₹1,800 crores for development, are situated in several key areas. While land acquisition has been successful for 25 of these links, negotiations for the remaining eight have encountered challenges as they involve property owned by former local representatives and their families.
As the PMC works diligently to secure the necessary land, significant progress has been made, with development already underway on 18 of the vital links. The corporation continues its negotiations with former local representatives in hopes of overcoming the remaining obstacles and moving forward with the comprehensive plan to enhance the city's road infrastructure.
