Pipeline Work Fails Again Sinhagad Road Turns Into Traffic Trap

20 Nov 2025

Commuters on the busy Sinhagad Road faced major traffic congestion after an earthmover deployed for PMC pipeline work broke down near Hingne during peak traffic hours. The traffic jam on Sinhagad Road affected daily travel for residents of Dhayari, Hingne, Vitthalwadi, and Santosh Hall, as long queues formed on the Wadgaon to Rajaram Bridge stretch. The delay created serious challenges for people commuting toward Swargate, with no alternative route available to divert vehicles.

Traffic on Sinhagad Road moved slowly until PMC and traffic police shifted the earthmover from the middle of the road. The breakdown added pressure to a stretch that already struggles with daily congestion due to incomplete road work under flyovers and ongoing water pipeline upgrades. Regular commuters say the Sinhagad Road corridor requires faster completion of pending works and stricter night-time construction schedules to prevent daytime gridlock.
