27 Jul 2025

In a bid to address the worsening traffic situation around Hinjewadi’s Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park and nearby areas like Maan, Mahalunge, and Sus, Deputy Chief Minister and Pune’s guardian minister has urged authorities to implement both immediate and long-term measures. During a high-level review meeting at the PMRDA office in Akurdi, he stressed the need to speed up ongoing Metro construction and road development in close coordination with local elected representatives and citizens. He emphasized that potholes must be filled promptly, debris around natural water channels should be cleared, and strong action taken against those obstructing public infrastructure work.

The meeting, which brought together top officials from PMC, PCMC, PMRDA, police departments, and state-level agencies, also focused on removing encroachments and completing land acquisition for crucial road widening projects. The Deputy CM directed that roadside parking and the movement of heavy vehicles must be better regulated to ensure smoother traffic flow. Highlighting the impact of rapid urbanisation, he stressed the importance of integrated planning for roads, water, sewage, health, and education. He also assured that farmers impacted by the closure of the Kasarsai canal would see corrections in their land records and promised to take up the issue at the Mantralaya for a speedy resolution.
