Pune Municipal Corporation has begun a focused effort to reduce traffic congestion and improve road connectivity across the city. The civic commissioner said the administration is working on removing key traffic bottlenecks and using available funds to strengthen the existing road network. He recently inspected traffic flow and civic infrastructure in Wagholi and Dhayari to identify practical solutions. On the Balbharati–Paud Phata link road, PMC is preparing to seek environmental clearance, with both underground and elevated road alignments under consideration. The project aims to ease traffic between Paud Road, Law College Road, and central Pune. Improvements in sanitation and related civic services are also part of the city’s ongoing plan.
In another update, PMC has announced the partial closure of one lane on the Savarkar flyover at Paud Phata Chowk until November 26 for essential repair work. Drivers have been advised to use alternate routes to avoid traffic delays. Meanwhile, Maha Metro has clarified that Metro work at Baba Bhide Bridge will continue during evening hours between 5 pm and 11 pm as scheduled. These developments highlight Pune’s ongoing efforts to balance infrastructure upgrades with daily commuter convenience and safety.
