30 Years in PMC Limits and Still No Roads Water or Drainage as Dhanori Porwal Road Neglect Raised at Standing Committee
The prolonged civic neglect of Dhanori Porwal Road and adjoining areas was strongly raised at PMC's weekly Standing Committee meeting with a senior member questioning the PMC Commissioner City Engineer and Road Department Head over the failure to provide basic amenities to an area that has been part of municipal limits for nearly three decades. Residents of Dhanori Road Porwal Road Munjaba Vasti Kalwad Kase Park and nearby areas continue to struggle with inadequate roads insufficient municipal water supply and poor drainage infrastructure forcing several cooperative housing societies to depend entirely on private water tankers for daily needs. The standing committee member also questioned the civic administration over its inability to complete even a single Development Plan road in the area over 30 years pointing specifically to the incomplete and crucial stretch between 509 Chowk and Jakat Naka and demanded that responsibility be fixed for the prolonged delay.
The member raised a pointed question asking what exactly PMC's responsibility towards Dhanori residents is if the civic body has failed to deliver basic infrastructure after three decades of collecting revenue from the rapidly developing locality. He warned that if PMC cannot develop Dhanori it raises serious doubts about its capacity to successfully develop the 32 newly merged villages. He demanded that no new building permissions be granted in the area until adequate roads water supply and drainage networks are in place and warned that if the administration fails to act within a definite timeframe residents would launch a large scale public movement to secure the basic civic amenities they rightfully deserve after 30 years of waiting.
