Maha Metro and PMPML Expand Feeder Network to 11 Stations and 23 Routes

22 Apr 2026

Maha Metro and PMPML have significantly expanded their last-mile connectivity network, now operating feeder bus services across 11 stations and 23 distinct routes. While the service has established a strong presence at major hubs like PCMC, Swargate, and Ramwadi, regular commuters are voicing frustration over inconsistent schedules and long wait times. To address these gaps, Maha Metro is currently surveying additional stations and exploring a multi-modal approach specifically planning dedicated autorickshaw services for stations where limited parking space makes bus halts impractical.

The feeder network has also seen a boost from private sector partnerships, particularly in the IT corridors along Nagar Road and near the SNDT Metro station, where corporate-backed shuttles are helping bridge the gap for office goers. However, the airport feeder service from Yerawada remains a major pain point; frequent flyers have reported wait times of up to 40 minutes, leading to urgent demands for a 10-minute frequency to make the Metro a viable option for air travelers. Additionally, the administration has clarified that the feeder service from the PCMC Metro station will now specifically cater to residents up to Kalewadi Phata, ensuring a dedicated link for that growing residential pocket.
