Chief Minister held a high level review meeting on implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban and available housing stock under various schemes directing all implementing agencies to expedite housing projects across Maharashtra and ensure homes are handed over to beneficiaries without delay and in accordance with prescribed quality standards. A total of 1,60,463 houses have been approved under the scheme across categories including Beneficiary Led Construction Affordable Housing in Partnership AHP under PPP and Affordable Rental Housing. Beneficiaries under the Economically Weaker Section category are being provided five brass approximately 500 cubic feet of sand free of cost for house construction. A review of the Housing Stock Management and Maharashtra Shelter Fund Strengthening Policy was also conducted to ensure better management of available housing across various authorities.
An integrated system is being developed for management and allocation of houses available with agencies like MHADA CIDCO and SRA while a comprehensive Housing Stock Portal is being created to consolidate information on homes available through MHADA CIDCO MMRDA BMC SRA and central and state government schemes. The portal will also facilitate housing allocation for special categories including persons with disabilities mill workers mathadi workers dabbawalas and transgender persons. Current housing stock includes MHADA with 15291 units CIDCO with 11830 units local self government bodies with 13575 houses SRA with 2281 units and Shivshahi Rehabilitation Project with 84 units with an additional 3945 units temporarily allotted to various authorities for use as transit camps.
