7 Years, No Progress! The Wait Continues for Mhalunge–Maan TP Scheme

13 Oct 2025

Nearly seven years after being announced as a model township at the Magnetic Maharashtra Summit, the Mhalunge–Maan Town Planning Scheme under PMRDA still awaits final approval from the state government. Despite renewed directions in July to expedite the process, officials confirm that no progress has been made in the last three months. The ₹scheme, covering 250 hectares, was based on the Gujarat TP model — where landowners receive 50% of developed plots — but no allotments have been made yet.

Frustrated landowners and residents have now staged protests demanding immediate clearance. Many said they parted with their land years ago in the hope of rapid development, but are now unable to sell or construct anything. Activists allege that while four other PMRDA schemes have been cleared, Mhalunge–Maan continues to stagnate. Locals also complain about poor roads, pollution, and lack of basic infrastructure in the area. Officials say once approved, the project will unlock over 460 final plots, providing both public amenities and housing for economically weaker sections.
